My new car’s boost gauge is the hand job of boost gauges. It tells you absolutely nothing, it doesn’t look very cool, and it’s not as fun to watch as a sweeping needle. Overall not that satisfying, but hey it’s better than nothing.
The car is a 1991 Galant Vr-4 for those that missed my earlier post. I plan on adding a small mechanical boost gauge, but i haven’t decided where yet. Possibly on top of the steering column right in the center.

Took me a minute to find it. Small tasteful aux one would look much better.

So what’s the stock gauge look like when you’re in boost?

Love it!

DO you mean as in they should have just had another analogue gauge in the cluster? because yes, yes they should have. It seems like they went with the digital gauge just to save space. The thing is the speedo and tach are HUGE. like 6 inches wide easy. if they had just made the tach or speedo smaller they made fit a real boost gauge and the rest of the gauges could have still been large enough to read easily.

Whomever is giving you handjobs needs to step up their game.

Exactly, or even one mounted to the steering column seperate from the dash cluster itself.

Ah! Does your gauge cluster look cleaner or no?

You’re brave! You don’t see these or the lower models really anymore in New Zealand, for a reason. Used to be common.
They handle amazingly nimbly for a larger car though and the V6 goes pretty good.
Just all the little parts around that which are the issues.. have fun!

You must be thinking of the newer Galants. I don’t think they ever put a V6 in the older, and significantly smaller ones. mine is a 6th gen.
